What this trial studies
This observational study aims to identify safe and effective treatment options for IgA nephropathy in children by enrolling 1200 patients diagnosed with primary IgA nephropathy and nephrotic proteinuria across 25 pediatric nephrology medical centers in China. Participants will be registered in an online database, and various data including demographic information, clinical symptoms, and treatment protocols will be collected prospectively. Statistical analysis will be conducted using SPSS software to evaluate the significance of the findings.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are children diagnosed with primary IgA nephropathy presenting with nephrotic proteinuria.
Not a fit: Patients with secondary renal diseases such as lupus nephritis or hepatitis B virus-associated nephritis will not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to improved treatment strategies for children suffering from IgA nephropathy.
How similar studies have performed: While there have been studies on IgA nephropathy, this registry approach focusing on pediatric patients in China is relatively novel.
