What this trial studies

The Vascular Access Registry (VARegistry) is a prospective patient registry aimed at documenting vascular access methods used during percutaneous cardiac procedures at the University General Hospital of Patras. The study will include patients over 18 years of age who require such procedures, utilizing various techniques for vascular puncture based on operator preference and patient anatomy. The registry will collect data on the effectiveness and safety of different access routes, including the traditional femoral approach and the newer distal transradial approach. This observational study will help establish best practices for vascular access in cardiac interventions.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates for this registry are patients over 18 years old who are indicated for any percutaneous cardiac procedure.

Not a fit: Patients who do not require a percutaneous cardiac procedure will not benefit from this registry.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this registry could improve patient outcomes by identifying the safest and most effective vascular access methods for cardiac procedures.

How similar studies have performed: Other studies have shown success with similar approaches to vascular access, particularly in demonstrating the benefits of the distal transradial approach.
