What this trial studies
This registry collects clinical data on patients diagnosed with myocardial infarction with non-obstructive coronary arteries (MINOCA) at Barts Health NHS Trust. It aims to understand the characteristics and outcomes of these patients, who represent a challenging group for treatment due to the lack of clear management guidelines. The study utilizes a prospectively collected database, ensuring that all patient data is anonymized and only accessible to the research team. Patients are included based on their clinical presentations, and the registry will continue indefinitely as part of routine clinical care.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this registry are patients aged 16 and older diagnosed with MINOCA or those with an unclear cause of troponin rise.
Not a fit: Patients younger than 16 years will not benefit from this registry as they are excluded from participation.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this registry could lead to improved understanding and management strategies for patients with MINOCA.
How similar studies have performed: While there have been studies on myocardial infarction, the specific focus on MINOCA is less common, making this registry a potentially novel approach.
