What this trial studies
The Calgary Registry for Advanced and Therapeutic Endoscopy (CReATE) is a prospective multi-centre registry that collects data from adult patients undergoing endoscopic retrograde pancreatography (ERCP) for various biliary and pancreatic diseases. The study captures comprehensive pre-procedural, procedural, peri-procedural, and post-procedural data in real-time through a dedicated research assistant. Patient outcomes are evaluated through medical record reviews and follow-up phone interviews 30 days post-procedure. This registry also supports ongoing prospective studies and randomized trials in the field.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates include adults aged 18 and over who require ERCP for standard indications and can provide informed consent.
Not a fit: Patients who are under 18 years old or have contraindications for ERCP will not benefit from this registry.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this registry could enhance understanding of ERCP outcomes and improve patient care in biliary and pancreatic diseases.
How similar studies have performed: Other registries and studies focusing on ERCP have shown success in improving patient outcomes and procedural understanding, indicating that this approach is supported by prior evidence.
