What this trial studies

This study involves the registration of all patients undergoing peritoneal dialysis (PD) for end-stage renal disease (ESRD) at selected hospitals in China. It aims to develop a comprehensive database that collects demographic and clinical data, including patient characteristics, treatment details, and quality of life metrics. Patients will be followed up every three months to monitor various clinical outcomes such as survival rates, complications, and changes in kidney function. The collected data will be analyzed to improve understanding of PD outcomes and patient care.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are patients diagnosed with end-stage renal disease who are currently receiving peritoneal dialysis.

Not a fit: Patients who are not receiving peritoneal dialysis or those with acute renal failure may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could enhance the management and outcomes of patients undergoing peritoneal dialysis.

How similar studies have performed: Other studies have shown success in using registries to improve patient outcomes in dialysis, indicating that this approach is promising.
