What this trial studies
This study investigates the impact of reflexology on seizure frequency, fatigue, stress, and sleep quality in patients with epilepsy. Participants will be randomly assigned to either an experimental group receiving reflexology treatments or a control group with no treatment. Data will be collected before and after the intervention to assess changes in the targeted symptoms. The study aims to provide insights into the potential benefits of reflexology as a complementary therapy for epilepsy management.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are adults aged 18 and older with a confirmed diagnosis of epilepsy who have not previously received reflexology therapy.
Not a fit: Patients with acute medical conditions, infections, or certain leg and foot issues may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could offer a non-invasive complementary therapy to help reduce seizure frequency and improve overall well-being in epilepsy patients.
How similar studies have performed: While reflexology has shown promise in other studies for various conditions, this specific application in epilepsy is relatively novel and has not been extensively tested.
