What this trial studies
This research aims to address hypertension management disparities within the Greater Mankato Somali population by randomly assigning participants to either a treatment group, which receives health education and a blood pressure monitor, or a control group, which only receives referrals to a primary care provider. The study will assess changes in blood pressure status and follow-up with healthcare providers over a period of three weeks and three months. By comparing pre- and post-intervention data, the effectiveness of the educational content on improving knowledge, attitudes, and health-seeking behaviors related to hypertension will be evaluated.
