What this trial studies
This randomized interventional program enrolls Spanish adolescents and gives half the participants a brief values-alignment 'wise intervention' while the other half receive a control intervention. The approach targets beliefs and social norms to reduce aggression and encourage prosocial responses toward LGB-TNB individuals. Outcomes are measured using self-report and behavioral measures collected before and after the intervention. Participants must be fluent in Spanish or Euskera and provide informed consent with parental permission.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal participants are Spanish adolescents who speak Spanish or Euskera and can provide informed consent with their families, particularly those able to attend the Bilbao site.
Not a fit: Adults, children outside the adolescent age range, people who cannot read Spanish or Euskera, or those without parental permission are unlikely to benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If effective, the intervention could reduce hostile behaviors and increase peer support for LGB-TNB adolescents, improving their safety and well-being.
How similar studies have performed: Related 'wise interventions' have reduced bias and improved behavior in other youth settings, but applying them specifically to aggression toward LGB-TNB adolescents in Spain is a relatively new approach.
