What this trial studies

This study investigates the impact of proprioceptive training on upper extremity function and performance in stringed instrument performers. It aims to include 50 adult musicians from various music associations in Elazığ, Turkey, who have been playing for at least three years. Participants will undergo proprioceptive training three times a week for eight weeks, focusing on stabilizing muscles in the shoulder and back. Assessments will evaluate pain, posture, upper extremity function, and performance before and after the training.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates are adult stringed instrumentalists aged 18-65 who have been performing for at least three years and practice for a minimum of one hour daily.

Not a fit: Patients with recent upper extremity injuries or surgeries, pregnant individuals, or those with psychological, neurological, or systemic diseases may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could help reduce musculoskeletal injuries and improve performance in musicians.

How similar studies have performed: While there is limited data on proprioceptive training specifically for musicians, similar approaches in other populations have shown promising results.
