What this trial studies
This pilot will adapt and deliver the Youth Physical Activity Towards Health (Y-PATH) physical literacy program to 9–11-year-old pupils in Danish municipal schools and test whether the revised protocol is feasible and acceptable. The intervention is classroom-based, delivered at the class level by teachers with project support, and targets motivation, confidence, motor skills, physical capacity, and knowledge. The team will collect feasibility and acceptability measures and secondary outcomes such as children's physical activity and motor-skill measures before and after the intervention. Results will inform whether the revised protocol is ready for a larger effectiveness trial in Denmark.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Mainstream municipal school pupils aged 9–11 whose parents provide written consent and who attend participating classes are the intended participants.
Not a fit: Pupils in special-needs classes, those already enrolled in other school development projects that would bias results, or those without parental consent are unlikely to benefit from this pilot.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, the program could help more children meet activity recommendations by improving motor skills, confidence, and long-term motivation to stay active.
How similar studies have performed: The Y-PATH program has been implemented internationally and previously shown positive effects on children's physical activity levels and motor skills.
