What this trial studies

This observational study aims to evaluate the effects of the Healthy Eating and Active Lifestyle (HEAL) Breast Cancer program on various health outcomes for participants. Over the course of eight weeks, participants will engage in weekly 90-minute virtual sessions focused on reducing the risk of cancer recurrence. Data will be collected at four different time points, including surveys and biometrics, to assess changes in perceived stress, lifestyle behaviors, mental health, and quality of life. The study will involve 45 subjects from AdventHealth Medical Group who consent to participate in the research component of the program.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates are adults aged 18 and older who have been diagnosed with breast cancer and are enrolled in the HEAL Breast Cancer Program.

Not a fit: Patients who are unable or unwilling to provide informed consent or comply with study procedures may not benefit from this program.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this program could enhance the quality of life and reduce stress for breast cancer survivors, potentially lowering the risk of recurrence.

How similar studies have performed: While similar lifestyle intervention programs have shown promise in improving health outcomes for cancer patients, this specific approach is relatively novel.
