What this trial studies
This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of a Health Action Process Approach (HAPA) based program on treatment adherence and quality of life among individuals undergoing hemodialysis. The HAPA model addresses the gap between intention and behavior by focusing on motivational and volitional processes that influence health behavior change. Participants will be recruited from Kahramanmaraş Necip Fazıl City Hospital and must meet specific eligibility criteria, including being literate and on hemodialysis for at least six months. The study will assess the impact of the program on both clinical parameters and laboratory test results.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are adults over 18 years old who have been on hemodialysis for at least six months and are literate.
Not a fit: Patients who have neurological or psychiatric diseases or those who have participated in a similar HAPA-based program may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this program could significantly enhance treatment adherence and improve the quality of life for patients on hemodialysis.
How similar studies have performed: While the HAPA model has been utilized in various health behavior interventions, this specific application in hemodialysis patients is relatively novel.
