Program to improve quality of life for patients with non-muscle invasive bladder cancer
Impacts and Testing of the "Multi-domains Active-living Program (MAP)" in Newly Diagnosed Operable Non-Muscle Invasive Bladder Cancer Patients - Current Status and the Effects of Combining With eHealth-Enhanced Randomized Controlled Trial
This study is testing a new program designed to improve the quality of life for patients with non-muscle invasive bladder cancer by comparing it to standard care over a year.

What this trial studies
This study focuses on operable patients with non-muscle invasive bladder cancer (NMIBC) who undergo frequent invasive procedures and treatments that may affect their quality of life. It aims to develop a Multi-domains Active-living Program (MAP) enhanced by e-health interventions and compare its effectiveness against standard oncology case manager (OCM) care. The study will assess various quality of life indicators, including physical function, distress, and fear of recurrence, over a 12-month period. The first phase involves validating a specific quality of life questionnaire for NMIBC patients, while the second phase will implement the MAP and evaluate its impact on patient outcomes.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are operable, newly diagnosed NMIBC patients aged 20 and above who can communicate in Mandarin.
Not a fit: Patients with inoperable bladder cancer or muscle invasive bladder cancer requiring cystectomy will not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this program could significantly enhance the quality of life for patients undergoing treatment for non-muscle invasive bladder cancer.
How similar studies have performed: Other studies have shown promising results with similar supportive care programs, indicating potential for success in this approach.
