What this trial studies
This study evaluates the AgeWISE-Action Plan (AgeWISE-AP), a 20-week program aimed at enhancing brain health among older Veterans. It combines education about cognitive aging with the development of personalized action plans to encourage engagement in brain-healthy lifestyle activities. The program also addresses psychological wellness by teaching stress reduction techniques and improving attitudes towards aging. Participants will be compared to a control group to assess the effectiveness of the intervention.

Good fit: Ideal candidates are Veterans over 60 years old who have concerns about cognitive aging and are eager to learn more about it.
Not a fit: Patients with significant cognitive impairments or diagnosed brain disorders will not benefit from this study.

Eligibility criteria

Inclusion Criteria: * Veterans \> 60 years old with concerns about brain aging who want to learn more about cognitive aging * English speaking as all intervention materials are written in English Exclusion Criteria: * Veterans with impairment on a cognitive screening measure, as determined using a MoCA cutoff score for dementia of \<24 OR self or other reported diagnosis of a brain disorder affecting cognition such as Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, other dementia, major stroke, or brain injury or diagnosis of psychotic disorder such as schizophrenia * Active alcohol or substance abuse
