What this trial studies
This program aims to enhance adherence to the Mediterranean diet among older adults through a multifactorial intervention that includes seminars on shopping and food labeling, as well as workshops on healthy cooking. Participants will be randomly assigned to either an intervention group, which receives the educational components, or a control group. The study will involve 200 adults aged 60 and above, focusing on those who are retired or pre-retired. The goal is to assess the impact of these interventions on dietary habits and overall health.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this program are adults aged 60 and older who are retired or in early retirement and willing to participate in the educational workshops.
Not a fit: Patients with health conditions that prevent them from participating in the workshops may not benefit from this program.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this program could lead to improved dietary habits and reduced risk of chronic diseases in older adults.
How similar studies have performed: Previous studies have shown positive outcomes in improving dietary adherence through educational interventions, suggesting that this approach may be effective.
