What this trial studies

This evaluation assesses the effectiveness of adding 10 hours of domestic violence prevention programming to the standard TYRO Champion Dads services. Participants will be randomly assigned to either receive standard services or enhanced services that include the Ray of Hope curriculum, which focuses on communication and conflict management skills related to domestic violence. The study aims to measure improvements in parenting attitudes, partner relationship behavior, and parenting behavior among participants receiving the enhanced curriculum compared to those receiving standard services. Outcomes will be evaluated 6 months after enrollment.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates for this program are adult fathers with children aged 24 years or younger who do not have open criminal cases.

Not a fit: Patients who are minors, not fathers, or have open criminal cases may not benefit from this program.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this program could lead to healthier parenting and relationship dynamics among fathers, ultimately benefiting their families.

How similar studies have performed: While similar programs have shown promise in improving family dynamics, this specific approach is novel in its focus on integrating domestic violence prevention into fatherhood support services.
