What this trial studies
This study evaluates the Trauma Resilience and Recovery Program (TRRP), a technology-enhanced, multidisciplinary approach designed to support adolescents aged 12-17 who have experienced traumatic injuries. Conducted across three accredited pediatric trauma centers, the trial aims to assess the effectiveness of TRRP in improving quality of life and emotional recovery for these patients. The program addresses the high rates of posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and depression associated with traumatic injuries, which are often overlooked in standard care. By implementing this scalable model, the study seeks to gather data that could inform future mental health interventions in pediatric trauma care.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are adolescents aged 12-17 who have been admitted to a trauma center following a traumatic injury and have shown significant distress.
Not a fit: Patients with self-inflicted injuries or those with severe injuries that prevent participation, such as head or spinal cord injuries, may not benefit from this program.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this program could significantly improve emotional recovery and quality of life for adolescent trauma survivors.
How similar studies have performed: Other studies have shown promise in implementing similar multidisciplinary approaches for mental health care in trauma settings, indicating potential for success.
