What this trial studies
This behavioral intervention evaluates the Youth Empowered Advocating for Health (YEAH) program aimed at reducing community violence among Black youth. The program focuses on empowering participants to address community concerns and develop solutions through participatory action research. It also examines the roles of racial identity and future orientation in mediating the effects of the intervention. The study is conducted in Metro Atlanta, targeting the structural determinants of violence that disproportionately affect Black youth.

Inclusion Criteria: * Identify their race or ethnicity as Black or African American * Speak English * Able to understand the project and give full consent to participate if eligible * Have a parent or guardian provide consent for them to participate * Member of Boys and Girls Clubs or other Youth Serving Organization (YEAH immediate intervention and delayed intervention groups) Exclusion Criteria: * Non-English speakers
