What this trial studies

This study aims to create a prognostic index specifically for elderly patients aged 65 and older who have been newly diagnosed with classical Hodgkin Lymphoma. It involves a prospective observational approach where consecutive cases are registered following a Comprehensive Geriatric Assessment (CGA) before any treatment is administered. The study collects data on patients' activities of daily living, instrumental activities of daily living, and geriatric assessment scores to evaluate their health status and treatment eligibility. Patients who are deemed ineligible for treatment or only suitable for palliative care after the CGA will also be included in the study.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are elderly patients aged 65 and older who have been newly diagnosed with classical Hodgkin Lymphoma.

Not a fit: Patients who are younger than 65 years or those with a prior history of treatment for Hodgkin Lymphoma will not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could provide a tailored prognostic tool to improve treatment decisions and outcomes for elderly patients with Hodgkin Lymphoma.

How similar studies have performed: While there have been studies focusing on Hodgkin Lymphoma, this specific approach targeting the elderly population with a comprehensive geriatric assessment is relatively novel.
