What this trial studies

This observational study aims to assess the seroprevalence of SARS-CoV-2 among healthcare personnel working in the emergency services of Strasbourg University Hospitals and Besançon University Hospital. It focuses on adult staff members who were active during the COVID-19 pandemic from March to May 2020 and who have consented to the use of their biological resources for research. The study will analyze serological data to understand the extent of COVID-19 exposure among these frontline workers.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are adults aged 18 and older who worked in the emergency departments of the participating hospitals during the specified pandemic period.

Not a fit: Patients who did not work in the emergency departments during the pandemic or who have opted out of participating will not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could provide valuable insights into the risk of COVID-19 exposure among emergency department staff, informing better protective measures.

How similar studies have performed: Other studies have successfully assessed seroprevalence among healthcare workers during the pandemic, indicating that this approach is validated and relevant.
