Predicting success of PNF and mobilization for cervical radiculopathy

Identifying Patients With Cervical Radiculopathy Responding to Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation Exercises Combined With Passive Cervical Mobilization: Clinical Prediction Rule

NA · Cairo University · NCT06040047

What this trial studies

This interventional study aims to identify clinical predictors that influence the success of combined proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation (PNF) and passive mobilization in patients suffering from cervical radiculopathy. The study will evaluate factors such as age, duration of symptoms, forward posture angle, and neck disability index in relation to treatment outcomes. There is no control group, and the focus is on understanding how these variables affect patient responses to the interventions.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates are individuals aged 40 to 60 with cervical radiculopathy and a minimum pain score of 3 on a visual analog scale.

Not a fit: Patients with whiplash injuries, previous cervical surgeries, or other specified exclusions may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to more effective treatment strategies for patients with cervical radiculopathy.

How similar studies have performed: While this approach is novel in its specific focus, similar studies have shown promise in using PNF and mobilization techniques for various musculoskeletal conditions.
