What this trial studies
This observational study aims to determine if assessments of balance and agility can predict the risk of leg injuries in active duty Service Members before they start their training. Participants will be evaluated based on their performance in these measures to identify potential injury risks. The study focuses on individuals aged 18-55 from the 82nd Airborne Division, ensuring a specific population is targeted for the research. The findings could help in developing preventive strategies for leg injuries in military personnel.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are active duty Service Members aged 18-55 from the 82nd Airborne Division who are fluent in English.
Not a fit: Patients who have had recent orthopedic injuries or surgeries affecting their lower limbs or back, or those unable to comply with the study protocol, may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to improved injury prevention strategies for Service Members, enhancing their training safety and performance.
How similar studies have performed: While this approach is observational and may not have been extensively tested in this specific context, similar studies have shown promise in using physical assessments to predict injury risks in athletic populations.
