Predicting complications from bone cement in joint surgeries using AI
Predicting the Development of Bone Cement Implantation Syndrome in Arthroplasty Operations Using Artificial Intelligence Methods
Ataturk University · NCT06777160

What this trial studies
This observational study aims to predict the occurrence of bone cement implantation syndrome (BCIS) during arthroplasty surgeries by utilizing artificial intelligence methods. BCIS is a serious complication that can lead to significant intraoperative and postoperative morbidity and mortality. The study will collect data from patients who have undergone total or partial hip and knee arthroplasties using bone cement, focusing on identifying risk factors and improving patient outcomes through predictive analytics. The ultimate goal is to enhance patient safety and comfort in the postoperative period by standardizing care based on predictive insights.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are patients aged 18 and older who are undergoing total or partial hip and knee arthroplasties using cement.
Not a fit: Patients who do not wish to participate in the study will not benefit from the findings.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could significantly reduce the incidence of bone cement implantation syndrome and improve patient safety during and after joint surgeries.
How similar studies have performed: While there have been studies addressing BCIS, the use of artificial intelligence for predictive modeling in this context is relatively novel and untested.
