What this trial studies
This is a prospective, randomized trial comparing four treatment options for primary sacrococcygeal pilonidal sinus in adolescents. Participants aged 12–18 with non-recurrent disease will be randomly assigned to one of the treatment arms, which include approaches ranging from non-operative care to procedures such as crystallized phenol application and surgical techniques. The study is single-center at Umraniye Education and Research Hospital and collects outcomes including recurrence, complications, and recovery. The aim is to identify which approach produces the best balance of low recurrence and minimized morbidity in this age group.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are patients aged 12–18 with a first-time (non-recurrent) sacrococcygeal pilonidal sinus who can provide family consent and attend the hospital for care.
Not a fit: Patients younger than 12, older than 18, or with recurrent pilonidal sinus are excluded and would not be helped by joining this trial.

Inclusion Criteria: * having sacrococcygeal pilonidal sinus disease * written informed (family) consent were eligible for inclusion in this trial Exclusion Criteria: * Being over 18 years old or under 12 years old * recurrent sacrococcygeal pilonidal sinus disease
