What this trial studies

This study examines the effects of different Pilates exercises on violinists suffering from non-specific neck pain. It is designed as a randomized controlled trial where participants aged 18-50 will be divided into two groups: one practicing mat Pilates and the other practicing reformer Pilates. Over a period of six weeks, participants will engage in exercise sessions twice a week for 45 minutes each. Pain intensity and recovery will be measured using various questionnaires at the beginning and end of the study to assess the impact of the interventions on neck function and daily activities.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are violinists aged 18-50 who experience non-specific neck pain and have received professional training.

Not a fit: Patients with psychological or physical disabilities that prevent them from exercising, or those with specific pathologies or prior surgeries affecting the upper extremities, may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could provide effective non-pharmacological treatment options for violinists suffering from neck pain.

How similar studies have performed: While there is limited research specifically targeting violinists, similar studies on Pilates for musculoskeletal pain have shown promising results.
