What this trial studies

This randomized control trial evaluates the effects of a 2-month physical rehabilitation program on cardiovascular endurance and quality of life for breast cancer survivors in the United Arab Emirates. The program is adapted from the BREX protocol and aims to address the significant morbidity experienced by survivors, particularly in relation to their physical health and social interactions. Participants will undergo supervised training along with an individually tailored home program to enhance their overall well-being. The study focuses on women aged 18 to 65 who have completed treatment for stage I to IIIa breast cancer.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates are female breast cancer survivors aged 18 to 65 who have completed chemotherapy and mastectomy and are cleared for post-surgical rehabilitation.

Not a fit: Patients currently diagnosed with active breast cancer or those with prior cardiorespiratory disorders may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this program could significantly improve the quality of life and cardiovascular health of breast cancer survivors.

How similar studies have performed: Other studies have shown positive outcomes with similar rehabilitation approaches for cancer survivors, indicating potential for success in this trial.
