What this trial studies

This clinical trial investigates the effects of a personalized intervention called PACE on frail patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD). A total of 120 participants will be randomly assigned to either receive the PACE intervention, which utilizes mobile social network support, or standard CKD education and consultation over a period of six months. The aim is to assess the effectiveness of this innovative approach in improving patient outcomes compared to usual care. The study focuses on patients diagnosed with CKD stages 1 to 5 who are also pre-frail or frail.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are frail patients diagnosed with chronic kidney disease stages 1 to 5 who can use a mobile social network application.

Not a fit: Patients who have received renal replacement therapy or have reached stage 5 of CKD will not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this intervention could enhance the management and quality of life for patients with chronic kidney disease.

How similar studies have performed: Other studies have shown promise in using mobile health interventions for chronic disease management, suggesting potential success for this approach.
