What this trial studies
This project focuses on screening the molecular profile of tumors to enhance the selection of anticancer treatments, particularly for allocation to available clinical trials. It involves collecting archival or freshly obtained tumor tissue, as well as blood, pleural fluid, fine needle aspirates, and saliva to analyze the genetic makeup of the tumor. The goal is to provide personalized therapy tailored to the individual molecular profile of the patient’s tumor.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates include individuals with a confirmed diagnosis of solid tumors who are suitable for systemic treatment and clinical trials.
Not a fit: Patients who do not have a solid tumor or those who are not eligible for systemic treatment may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this approach could lead to more effective and targeted cancer treatments for patients.
How similar studies have performed: Other studies utilizing molecular profiling for personalized cancer treatment have shown promising results, indicating potential success for this approach.
