What this trial studies
This is an observational hospital-based program offering a personalized adapted physical activity (APA) module to adults with advanced melanoma treated with systemic therapies. Patients who agree to participate receive tailored exercise recommendations and follow-up within the hospital care pathway. Outcomes tracked over about six months include physical capacity, cancer-related fatigue, and quality of life measures. The program responds to growing survivorship in metastatic melanoma and aims to limit physical deconditioning during treatment.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Adults (18+) with advanced melanoma treated with immunotherapy or targeted therapy at the participating center who agree to the adapted sports module and can complete a six-month follow-up.
Not a fit: Patients with melanoma not requiring systemic treatment, minors, those unable to complete six-month follow-up, or legally protected/incapacitated persons are not eligible and are unlikely to benefit from this program.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, the program could help maintain or improve physical capacity, reduce cancer-related fatigue, and preserve quality of life during systemic treatment.
How similar studies have performed: Exercise and adapted physical activity programs have shown benefits for fatigue, strength, and quality of life in cancers such as breast and prostate and have been feasible in metastatic patients, but specific data in advanced melanoma are limited.
