What this trial studies
This clinical trial aims to evaluate the effectiveness of peer coaching models in helping older adults with unmanaged type 2 diabetes improve their self-management skills. Participants will be paired with trained peer coaches who have successfully managed their own diabetes, and they will engage in regular discussions about self-care and goal setting. The study will compare different methods of pairing coaches and participants, as well as the frequency of their interactions, to determine which approach is most effective. Stakeholder engagement will also be incorporated to enhance understanding of the intervention's impact.
