What this trial studies

This observational study will collect postoperative feedback from adults who undergo awake endotracheal intubation at Hacettepe University. Eligible patients are 18 or older, able to communicate, and scheduled for elective awake intubation, while emergency cases and those with communication barriers are excluded. Information will be gathered through brief questionnaires and/or interviews about comfort, satisfaction, and specific aspects of the procedure and perioperative care. Results will be summarized to identify common concerns and opportunities to improve patient preparation and comfort.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Adults (18+) at Hacettepe University who are eligible for awake intubation, can communicate clearly, and agree to participate.

Not a fit: Patients needing emergency surgery, those with communication difficulties, or those who decline participation are unlikely to benefit from the study's findings.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, the results could help clinicians improve pre-procedure counseling, sedation/local anesthesia choices, and overall patient comfort during awake intubation.

How similar studies have performed: Previous observational reports have shown mixed results on patient comfort with awake airway management, so this adds additional local data though the approach is not novel.
