What this trial studies

This observational study aims to gather qualitative data by interviewing patients who have recently undergone day-case urological surgeries, specifically transurethral bladder tumour resection (TURBT), transurethral resection of the prostate (TURP), or transurethral enucleation of the prostate (TUEP). Conducted across various hospitals in England, the study seeks to understand patients' experiences and identify areas for improvement in day-case surgical pathways. Interviews will continue until saturation is reached, ensuring comprehensive insights into patient perspectives. The findings will contribute to enhancing the quality of care for future patients undergoing similar procedures.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates are adults aged 18 or older who have undergone day-case TURBT, TURP, or TUEP within the past six weeks.

Not a fit: Patients who had surgeries not performed as day-case procedures will not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to improved patient experiences and outcomes for those undergoing day-case urological surgeries.

How similar studies have performed: While qualitative studies on patient experiences are common, this specific focus on day-case urological surgeries is relatively novel.
