What this trial studies

This observational, retrospective review examines medical records of 93 adult women with karyotype-confirmed Turner syndrome who expressed a desire to become parents and were seen at Strasbourg University Hospitals from January 1, 2009 to December 31, 2019. The study records occurrences of spontaneous pregnancies, pregnancies after egg donation, adoptions, and cases excluded for missing data or lack of desire for parenthood. No interventions are assigned; data are summarized and compared across relevant clinical subgroups. The goal is to provide real-world frequencies and outcomes to inform clinical counseling about parenthood options in Turner syndrome.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Adult women (≥18 years) with karyotype-confirmed Turner syndrome who sought parenthood and were treated at Strasbourg University Hospitals during 2009–2019.

Not a fit: People who did not want to become parents, who lack sufficient medical records, or who were not treated at Strasbourg University Hospitals are unlikely to benefit directly from these findings.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this work could help clinicians give clearer, evidence-based counseling about realistic parenthood options for women with Turner syndrome.

How similar studies have performed: Previous observational reports indicate spontaneous pregnancies are uncommon and pregnancies after egg donation are more frequent in Turner syndrome, so this study complements existing descriptive literature rather than introducing a novel therapy.
