What this trial studies

Female urethral stricture is an uncommon cause of bladder outlet obstruction and may require urethral reconstruction when minimally invasive procedures fail. This interventional study directly compares augmentation urethroplasty using oral mucosal grafts versus labial grafts in women with non‑traumatic urethral strictures. Eligible participants will undergo one of the two graft procedures and be followed for surgical outcomes, complications, and recurrence. The trial is conducted as a single‑center study at Tanta University in Egypt with standard perioperative and follow‑up care.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Women with non‑traumatic urethral stricture who are candidates for urethral reconstruction and have no systemic contraindications to surgery.

Not a fit: Women with traumatic urethral strictures or with systemic surgical contraindications such as bleeding disorders would not be expected to benefit or be eligible.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, the comparison could identify a graft type that lowers recurrence and improves urinary function after urethroplasty in women.

How similar studies have performed: Oral mucosal grafts, especially buccal mucosa, have been widely reported with good outcomes in urethroplasty, while labial/vaginal grafts have smaller series and less comparative data.
