What this trial studies
This interventional study evaluates the feasibility and effectiveness of a 12-week online program focused on plant-based nutrition aimed at reversing type 2 diabetes. Participants will receive education on plant-based diets and their potential health benefits, including reductions in glycated hemoglobin, body weight, and cholesterol levels. The study will analyze data to determine the program's impact on these health markers in a community setting, providing insights for healthcare professionals.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are U.S. adults aged 18 or older with a prior diagnosis of type 2 diabetes.
Not a fit: Patients with unstable medical or psychiatric illnesses, or those unable to participate fully in the study, may not benefit from this program.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this program could help patients achieve better control of their diabetes and improve overall health through dietary changes.
How similar studies have performed: Other studies have shown promising results with plant-based diets in managing and potentially reversing type 2 diabetes, indicating that this approach is supported by existing evidence.
