What this trial studies
This study investigates the effects of an online mindfulness-based intervention designed for children diagnosed with Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). The intervention aims to improve ADHD symptoms and enhance parental mental health through a randomized controlled trial format. Participants will include parents of children aged 6 to 12 who have been diagnosed with ADHD, focusing on those who have been primary caregivers and speak Cantonese. The study will assess the effectiveness of this online program in comparison to traditional behavioral interventions.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are parents of children aged 6 to 12 diagnosed with ADHD who are primary caregivers and speak Cantonese.
Not a fit: Patients with developmental disabilities, psychosis, or those who have previously completed an eight-week mindfulness-based intervention may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this intervention could provide a valuable tool for improving ADHD symptoms in children while also supporting parental mental health.
How similar studies have performed: Previous studies have shown success with mindfulness-based interventions for ADHD, indicating potential for this approach.
