What this trial studies
This study involves adult patients with Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) who have not responded to standard medical treatments. Participants will receive gut-directed hypnotherapy administered online by a nurse trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. The effectiveness of the treatment will be evaluated using validated questionnaires at various time points, including baseline, during treatment, and at follow-ups six months, one year, and two years post-treatment. The primary focus is on assessing changes in gastrointestinal symptom severity.

Good fit: Ideal candidates are adults diagnosed with IBS who have symptoms that are resistant to standard medical therapies.
Not a fit: Patients with organic gastrointestinal diseases will not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this approach could significantly reduce IBS symptoms for patients who have not found relief through conventional treatments.
