What this trial studies
This pilot study aims to assess the feasibility and reliability of conducting large-scale online neurocognitive testing specifically for individuals with Parkinson's disease. It will involve both in-lab and online testing to validate the effectiveness of these cognitive assessments. The study seeks to establish a protocol for future research in this area, which has not been extensively explored in Parkinson's research despite its growing use in psychiatry.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates include individuals diagnosed with Parkinson's disease or healthy individuals without any neurological illnesses.
Not a fit: Patients with psychotic disorders, advanced dementia, or other significant neurological conditions may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to more accessible and effective cognitive assessments for patients with Parkinson's disease.
How similar studies have performed: While large-scale online cognitive testing has been successful in psychiatry, this approach in Parkinson's research is novel and untested.
