What this trial studies
The O.R.E. - 30 seconds trial investigates how oncologist recommendations can influence physical activity levels in lung cancer patients. It aims to determine the effectiveness of exercise as a supportive therapy, particularly in improving physical and psychological outcomes. Participants will be divided into groups receiving either exercise recommendations alone or recommendations along with a guidebook. The study focuses on patients diagnosed with lung cancer within the last 24 months, assessing the impact of exercise on their overall health and recovery.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates include adults aged 18 and older with a confirmed diagnosis of lung cancer within the last 24 months and a performance status of ECOG ≤ 1.
Not a fit: Patients with significant physical or psychological disabilities, or those unable to communicate in Italian, may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could enhance the quality of life and recovery outcomes for lung cancer patients through increased physical activity.
How similar studies have performed: Previous studies have shown positive outcomes for exercise interventions in lung cancer patients, indicating a promising approach.
