What this trial studies

This observational study aims to analyze the clinical, epidemiological, and pathological features of colon serrated polyps, including hyperplastic polyps and sessile serrated adenomas. Researchers will collect data from endoscopy reports and electronic medical records to assess patient demographics, colonoscopy procedures, and outcomes of polyp resections. The study will also evaluate complications, tumor recurrence, and cancer during follow-up, contributing to quality improvement in endoscopic management. Findings will be shared at academic meetings and published in peer-reviewed journals.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are patients diagnosed with serrated polyps, including hyperplastic polyps above the sigmoid colon and sessile or traditional serrated adenomas.

Not a fit: Patients without any serrated polyps or those with other types of colon polyps may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could enhance the understanding and management of colon serrated polyps, potentially improving patient outcomes.

How similar studies have performed: Other studies have explored serrated polyps, but this specific observational approach focusing on comprehensive data collection is relatively novel.
