What this trial studies

This study involves registering all end-stage renal disease patients undergoing hemodialysis treatment at selected hospitals in China to develop a comprehensive hemodialysis database. Patients will be followed up every three months, with data collected on demographic and clinical characteristics, complications, and quality of life. The study aims to compare patient survival, technical survival, access patency rates, and residual renal function using the collected data. The goal is to enhance understanding of hemodialysis outcomes and improve patient care.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are end-stage renal disease patients currently receiving hemodialysis treatment.

Not a fit: Patients who are not receiving hemodialysis treatment will not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to improved patient outcomes and quality of life for individuals undergoing hemodialysis.

How similar studies have performed: Other studies have shown success in using observational databases to improve understanding of hemodialysis outcomes, making this approach both relevant and tested.
