What this trial studies
This observational study focuses on patients with Bicuspid Aortic Valve (BAV) disease, collecting clinical and ultrasound imaging data from over 30 hospitals in China. It aims to follow 200 outpatients and inpatients for two years to analyze prognostic characteristics and establish a comprehensive database for BAV patients. The study will evaluate various outcomes, including all-cause mortality and heart-related complications, using ultrasound imaging to assess different forms of valvular lesions.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates include patients diagnosed with Bicuspid Aortic Valve through ultrasound or other imaging tests.
Not a fit: Patients with Trileaflet Aortic Valve or significant aortic valve calcification will not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could enhance understanding of BAV disease and improve patient management strategies.
How similar studies have performed: While there have been studies on BAV, this specific approach of creating a comprehensive database through multi-center collaboration is relatively novel.
