Nutrition awareness for women after non-metastatic breast cancer
Nutrition Awareness Among Women With Non-Metastatic Breast Cancer

What this trial studies
This single-group, fully remote study enrolls women with non-metastatic breast cancer who have completed primary treatment and asks them to complete three online questionnaires delivered via REDCap. The first questionnaire collects sociodemographic data and a brief dietary recall, the second measures ability to identify ultra-processed foods, and participants then review a two-page educational flyer about diet, obesity, and cancer. The third questionnaire asks about willingness and ability to eat healthier and reduce unhealthy foods. All consent and study activities are completed by email and online surveys in English.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Women over 18 with a diagnosis of non-metastatic breast cancer who have completed primary treatment, have no recurrence or other active cancer, can read English, and can provide a private email address are ideal candidates.
Not a fit: People with metastatic or active recurrent cancer, those still undergoing primary treatment, non-English speakers, or those without reliable internet/email access are unlikely to benefit from this online educational protocol.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, the intervention could improve participants' ability to identify unhealthy processed foods and increase willingness to adopt dietary changes that may lower obesity-related risks.
How similar studies have performed: Prior survivorship and nutrition education studies have shown that education can improve knowledge and modest dietary behaviors, but targeted work on ultra-processed foods in non-metastatic breast cancer survivors is relatively limited.
