What this trial studies

This observational study aims to collect measurement data on the spinal curvature (lordosis) in pregnant women and analyze its relationship with delivery outcomes. By utilizing a non-invasive imaging technique, the researchers will validate a new method for measuring the angle of lordosis. The study will focus on low-risk pregnant women aged 20 to 40, aiming to establish correlations between spinal curvature and various birth outcomes. The findings could provide insights into how biomechanical factors influence pregnancy and delivery.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are pregnant women aged 20 to 40 with low-risk pregnancies.

Not a fit: Patients under 20 or over 40 years of age, those with significant lumbar pathology, high-risk pregnancies, or a BMI over 35 may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to improved understanding of how spinal curvature affects delivery outcomes, potentially enhancing prenatal care.

How similar studies have performed: While the specific approach of this study may be novel, similar studies exploring the relationship between biomechanics and pregnancy outcomes have shown promising results.
