What this trial studies
This study investigates the feasibility and preliminary efficacy of Evolutionary Systems Therapy for individuals with various personality disorders. It includes three main actions: a case series involving adolescents, a case series for young adults, and an ecological momentary assessment to validate the therapy's conceptual model. Participants will undergo six months of psychotherapy, with assessments based on a dimensional model of personality. The goal is to gather data on interpersonal styles and the therapy's effectiveness across different age groups.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are adolescents aged 16-19 and young adults aged 20-25 diagnosed with personality disorders.
Not a fit: Patients with schizophrenia spectrum disorders, bipolar disorders, autism spectrum disorder, intellectual disabilities, or those currently undergoing other treatments may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this therapy could provide a novel treatment option for individuals suffering from personality disorders.
How similar studies have performed: Previous studies have shown promise for Evolutionary Systems Therapy in specific personality disorders, but this broader application is relatively novel.
