New MRI techniques to check tumor response in pancreatic cancer

Contribution of New Pancreatic MRI Sequences for the Evaluation of Tumor Response in Pancreatic Adenocarcinomas

Not applicable Interventional Central Hospital, Nancy, France · NCT06842303

What this trial studies

Adults with CT-diagnosed non-metastatic pancreatic adenocarcinoma will undergo MRI exams that include high-resolution diffusion sequences and magnetic resonance elastography. Images from these new sequences will be collected alongside routine imaging and clinical follow-up. Radiologic metrics from the advanced MRI sequences will be compared with standard imaging findings and patient outcomes to see if they provide clearer signs of tumor change. The protocol is performed at a single tertiary center and requires participants to be able to undergo MRI and provide informed consent.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Adults (≥18) with CT-confirmed non-metastatic pancreatic adenocarcinoma who can have MRI, are able to consent, and meet local social security requirements are eligible.

Not a fit: Patients with any contraindication to MRI, metastatic disease, inability to consent, pregnancy, minors, or those under certain legal restrictions are unlikely to benefit from participation.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, the techniques could help doctors see tumor changes more clearly or earlier, which may improve treatment decisions for patients.

How similar studies have performed: Prior pilot work with high-resolution diffusion MRI and MRE has shown promising signals in pancreatic tumors, but these approaches remain exploratory and not yet standard of care.
