What this trial studies

This prospective, single-center study evaluates a novel dual-port trans-subclavian approach to endoscopic thyroid surgery compared to traditional open thyroidectomy. It involves 300 patients with thyroid tumors, divided into an experimental group receiving the new technique and a control group undergoing conventional surgery. The study aims to assess the effectiveness and safety of the new method by comparing surgical complications and collecting laboratory data at specified follow-up points. Adverse events will also be meticulously recorded to provide comprehensive evidence-based insights.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates include patients with thyroid cancer or benign thyroid tumors who desire cosmetic improvement from their incisions.

Not a fit: Patients with larger thyroid cancers or benign tumors, severe underlying diseases, or specific autoimmune conditions may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this approach could lead to reduced surgical complications and improved cosmetic outcomes for patients undergoing thyroid surgery.

How similar studies have performed: While endoscopic thyroid surgery has been explored, this specific dual-port approach is relatively novel and has not been widely tested in prior studies.
