What this trial studies

This interventional trial will enroll undergraduate nursing students at the University of Salamanca and assign them to receive a combined neurofeedback–mindfulness program or to a no-intervention control. Participants will be screened for eligibility (age 18–45; no serious psychiatric disorder in the prior six months) and will provide informed consent. The intervention pairs brain-training neurofeedback with guided mindfulness exercises delivered on site at the Faculty of Nursing, and outcomes will include validated measures of anxiety, perceived stress, and academic performance. Outcomes in the intervention and control groups will be compared to determine whether the combined approach produces measurable improvements.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Undergraduate nursing students aged 18–45 enrolled at the University of Salamanca who are willing to give informed consent are ideal candidates.

Not a fit: Students with a history of serious psychiatric disorders in the prior six months, those unable to attend on-site sessions, or students without significant stress or anxiety are unlikely to benefit.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If effective, the combined neurofeedback–mindfulness program could lower anxiety and stress and help nursing students concentrate and perform better academically.

How similar studies have performed: Separate studies have shown modest benefits for neurofeedback and for mindfulness in reducing anxiety and stress, but their combined use is relatively novel with limited direct evidence.
