What this trial studies

This observational study aims to establish a large prospective cohort database for patients with central nervous system idiopathic inflammatory demyelinating diseases (IDD) in China. It will collect detailed electronic information on demographics, medical history, clinical status, and treatment outcomes of patients diagnosed with conditions such as multiple sclerosis and neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder. The study seeks to understand the natural course of these diseases, evaluate drug efficacy, and develop standardized follow-up management and treatment guidelines for IDD patients in China.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are individuals diagnosed with any form of idiopathic inflammatory demyelinating disease, regardless of age or sex.

Not a fit: Patients with severe mental illness that prevents them from cooperating with examinations or follow-ups will not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could provide valuable insights into the disease progression and treatment efficacy for patients with neuro-inflammatory diseases in China.

How similar studies have performed: While similar cohort studies have been conducted globally, this study is novel as it aims to create the first large nationwide registry for CNS IDD in China.
