What this trial studies
This study assesses the impact of a music and video-based group exercise therapy on motivation, physical functioning, cognition, and overall well-being in older adults diagnosed with moderate dementia. Participants will engage in structured exercise sessions designed to enhance their physical and cognitive abilities while being supported by music and visual stimuli. The study aims to evaluate how this innovative approach can improve adherence to exercise regimens among this population.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates include men and women aged 65 and older with moderate dementia who are residents in nursing homes and can stand with support.
Not a fit: Patients with inadequate functional hearing, uncorrected visual problems, or those recovering from significant orthopedic or neurologic issues may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this intervention could significantly enhance the quality of life and cognitive function for older adults with dementia.
How similar studies have performed: While similar approaches using music and exercise have shown promise in enhancing well-being in dementia patients, this specific intervention is relatively novel.
